Birthday Fundraising Project 2016
In 2016 the Ken-Friends celebrated Kenneth Branagh's 56th birthday with a donation of $4,007 US, raised to support students from Northern Ireland under The William & Frances Branagh Memorial Award at the Royal Aacademy of Dramatic Art (RADA). The sum collected came from the sale of notepads commemorating the 20th anniversary of Kenneth Branagh's film of Hamlet and from additional donations by Ken-Friends. The Ken-Friends total contribution to RADA over the years has amounted to $46,533, with $43,054 going to the Branagh bursary.

Here is Kenneth Branagh's thank-you:

Dear Ken Friends,

My profound thanks once again for your exceptional generosity on the occasion of my birthday.

I'm enjoying very much the privilege of being RADA's President, and as such I'm able to see this year the results of your generosity at first hand. Your magnificent continued support of the bursary in my parents name (once again this year an extraordinary amount), is having a hugely beneficial effect - thank you.

The Hamlet notepaper is timely and I'm most grateful. I have a great use for them in mind! Let me finish by saying how much your support of our Garrick season was appreciated by all involved. You made a magical time all the more so.

May I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season, and a wonderful new year, and once again, my friends, thank you.

Ken Branagh

Since 1998 the Ken-Friends have have donated a grand total of $89,607 to Kenneth Branagh's charities/organisations. Not a bad accomplishment for our small "band of brothers".
