Birthday Fundraising Project 2012
In 2012 the Ken-Friends celebrated Kenneth Branagh's 52nd birthday with a donation to the William and Frances Branagh Memorial Bursary fund. The fundraising project raised $5,806 US for students from Northern Ireland at the Royal Aacademy of Dramatic Art (RADA).

Here is Kenneth Branagh's thank-you note:

"I wanted to wish all Ken Friends a very happy, healthy and creative New Year.

And of course I want to extend a most heartfelt thank you for the magnificent sum raised this year on the occasion of my birthday.

Your generosity never ceases to amaze and inspire me, and the many others who are touched and helped in no small measure by this remarkable act of giving. I salute you all.

I was particularly thrilled by the superb collection of post cards that it was my good fortune to receive directly. I really loved reading your messages, and imagining stories to take place in all of these exotic and fascinating locales in the pictures.

I truly appreciate the imagination and the effort. It was a joy to have them.
Thank you so much.

This last year was a memorable one for me, and the coming one looks no less exciting. I am very blessed. Most especially by the support of your good selves. I hope this year will bring ongoing happiness to you all.

And whatever adjustment in my name may have appeared to occur in this past twelve months, I can assure you that I remain simply, happily and eternally,
your very grateful,
Friend,
Ken"
