Two of Marvel Comics' biggest names had a very public chat via Twitter this week, and the subject matter should have Marvel's movie fans buzzing. In the discussion, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada and the primary architect of the publisher's universe, Brian Michael Bendis, revealed a very interesting meeting that took place with 'Thor' movie director Kenneth Branagh.

"Okay, three words describe my day today 'Branagh gets it!'" wrote Quesada, initiating the dialogue between the two creators. Asked by Bendis whether they could reveal what their meeting was about, Quesada elaborated a little more: "We can't go into detail but maybe we can say that we met with Branagh about 'Thor'."

This information is certainly tantalizing to Marvel readers, but among comics fans it's likely to beg the question: What is Bendis' involvement in the project?

The 'New Avengers' and 'Ultimate Spider-Man' writer is responsible for several of the major overarching storylines in Marvel's books over the last decade, including major events such as 'Secret Invasion' and 'House of M.' If earlier reports are to be believed and the 'Thor' film will integrate the character into the Avengers' world established by last year's 'Iron Man,' Bendis would definitely make a great story consultant to make that happen in fan-pleasing fashion.

"Sweet is when [Branagh] starts quoting continuity and past storylines," Quesada responded to one of his Twitter fans. "The man has immersed himself in Marvel."

The meeting also seems to signify a continuing trend of collaboration between the comic book side of Marvel and their Marvel Studios wing that helming [sic] the films.
