Branagh Toying With Thor Sequel

Belfast Telegraph, 10 May 2011

Kenneth Branagh has revealed he finds the idea of a Thor sequel "tantalising and fascinating".

With the superhero film thundering to the top of the US box office, talk has turned to the potential of a follow-up, which Kenneth has said isn't out of the question.

"We went through so many possibilities for how the story might go, that of course the prospect of that is very tantalising and fascinating," he told MTV News.

"I loved working with this group of actors and had a fantastic experience working with everyone in the Marvel family," he added.

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth stars as the god of thunder in the 3D action adventure, alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Stellan Skargard.

Kenneth claimed the decision for a sequel wouldn't be up to him.

"You know as well as I do, there's a passionate fanbase out there that will say what they think. People will vote with their feet," continued the director.

"And because it's such a big chunk of change for everybody involved, I think that's going to have a crucial, crucial impact but it would be a lovely challenge and problem to have, should we do a second one."
