Kenneth Branagh's glitzy new Agatha Christie adaptation Murder On The Orient Express is just around the corner, and now a fresh poster has landed ahead of the release, featuring the majority of the huge cast.

If you were wondering, the director has his reasons for making Poirot's moustache absolutely gigantic in the new film, and he's finally revealed them to the public in the latest issue of Empire, via Digital Spy.

Branagh's immense moustache has been the talk of the town ever since the first trailer for the movie popped up, but according to the man himself, it's a fitting tribute.

"[Christie] really does have every character respond to [the moutstache [sic]]. There are 15 easy-to-find quotes about how she regards the moustache, which is usually 'immense', 'magnificent' or 'majestic'," he explained, before adding that the author actually found Albert Finney's 70s Poirot 'tache "a little bit disappointing".

Branagh also indicated that his character's humongous moustache could very well be part of his game plan.

"Poirot can hide behind the moustache. But also, when people mock it or ridicule it or dismiss it, they underestimate him and therefore his job as a detective becomes simpler."

With a huff, puff and just a small chuff, along came the first trailer for the film. As you may have guessed, we'll be making so many train-related joked between now and its release this winter that we'll probably lose track.

The much-anticipated movie will be out on the 3rd of November here in the UK.

When Kenneth Branagh directs a movie with a sizeable ensemble, the result is usually joyous. As such, we're greatly looking forward to his adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 'Murder On The Orient Express', which we're betting will be – ready? – a sleeper hit this winter. Chortle.

The film also sees Branagh in the role of Hercule Poirot, and he’s attracted a hell of a cast to the mystery. There’s Penelope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Dame Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Olaf, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr and Daisy Ridley in there, although you could have got all of that from reading the poster.
