Helena's Mother Says Kenneth Is 'Marvellous'
PA News, November 6, 1997
by Simon Holden
British actress Helena Bonham
Carter refused to talk about her lover Kenneth Branagh but he
was given a ringing endorsement by his prospective mother-in-law.
Elena Bonham Carter flew into
London with her daughter on Concorde just two hours before the
gala premiere of Keep the Aspidistra Flying, in which Helena
stars.
Helena would only say: "I'm
not prepared to say anything about that at the moment" when
asked about possible wedding plans.
But her mother was far more forthcoming,
saying: "I think he is a marvellous man, very nice."
Branagh is filming in the United
States with Woody Allen and could not make the premiere in London's
Leicester Square.
Helena said she was exhausted
after attending a premiere on Wednesday night in New York.
"The flight was very nice
and very quick and I've never flown on Concorde before. I can't
believe I was in New York five hours ago. I'm completely spaced
out."
